What is a .p7m file?
A .p7m file is a CMS signature wrapped around a document. Italian PEC mail, public tenders and e-invoices often arrive this way. The readable file is inside.
Where did I get it?
It usually arrives by PEC or from a government portal. The name may be invoice.pdf.p7m, a double .p7m.p7m, or base64 text. SignedDocs reads the bytes, not the name.
Is it safe?
Yes. The file stays in your browser. SignedDocs does not upload it and does not ask for an account. Keep the original: that file is the signed record.
Why won't it open by double-click?
A computer has no built-in reader for CMS. Double-click looks for an app that understands .p7m and finds none. Open it here instead.

Is the PDF still legally valid?
The PDF you download is a copy of the content. The proof of the signature is the original file. Save that file. This page is not a legal validation.
